Harry Potter-an Overview

Harry Potter is definitely one of the highest grossing movies of all time, all over the world. It caught the hearts not just the kids, but people of all ages. The quality and the actions in the movie makes it so realistic and believable that makes one want to watch it over and over. The script is genuinely made. From the production, the cast, writers, directors to the cinematography of the movie it is a movie that is stunning and breathtaking. The author has a brilliant and amazing mind especially for converting the book into a movie. Harry Potter was just an astounding story written in the book by the infamous and currently one of the richest people in the world, J.K. Rowling. Who would have thought that someone like her who was just depending on the social security systems, would turn out a multi-millionaire within just five years? She did it courtesy of her critically acclaimed and worldwide sensation book, Harry Potter?

The story actually revolves around the young orphaned boy and main character, Harry James Potter who eventually finds out that he is a wizard on his 11th birthday. The main story of the book covers seven years of Harry Potter’s life. The young orphan boy headed to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to master his magical powers. Harry is guided accordingly by the headmaster of the school who is Albus Dumbledore with additional help from the other professors of the school. He also learns that the people in the magical society already know him. And that his destiny is bound with the number one antagonist in the magical world, Lord Voldermort. Harry later finds out then that the latter was the one responsible of his parent’s (Lily and James) death. Lord Voldermort is known to be the greatest Dark Wizard in the world of magic. He brutally killed Harry’s parents when the young boy was just only one year old.  Harry James Potter, Albus Dumbledore and Lord Voldermort are among the most popular Harry Potter characters.

Who could forget the lines, “You know who” and “He who must not be named?”  These lines were actually referring to the Dark Wizard Lord Voldermort who is scared to mention his name and make believing that anything bad will happen if they mention the latter’s name. The Dark Wizard also tried to kill Harry when he was one year old but did not succeed because Lily, Harry’s mom sacrificed herself for him. Voldermort only left a scar on the young orphan boy’s face. One thing that the Dark Wizard can’t shatter is love. The love of Harry’s mother to him saved him from being killed as well.  The evil wizard’s body was killed yet keeping his soul alive.

The brutality of Voldermort in the story paints him as most evil of all the Harry Potter characters. He goes into hiding after the failed attempt on Harry’s life that just leaves a scar on his forehead. Left with no parents, Harry is adopted by his only remaining relatives-the Dursleys, a family that doesn’t treat him right but the course of Harry’s life changes after his eleventh birthday.
